The 10th of October was a really cold day. I stood there, at the bus-station, with my heavy bag and my TV. The bus arrived and I had to push my way trough loads of drunk teenager who were going to visit a local disco. After a short bus-trip I was in Mariestad, the place where I should enter the bus to Uddevalla where the party would be held. I had one hour to wait here so I placed my stuff in a locker at the station and went for a fast visit at a friend of mine's party. That was my first mistake.
When I left the party I went to the station to get my equipement. What the heck! The station was closed, with my computer and competition tune in it. I ran to the taxi-station, got the number to the man who were in charge at the bus-station and phoned him. He had to drive all the way from home to unlock the station and he wasn't too happy. He mumbled something about that this wasn't the first time this sort of thing happened. He added some words about that he often had to open for kids who have locked thir booze in. He didn't want any money from me, though.
Fortunite, the bus arrived 30 minutes late, else it wouldn't have been possible for me to travel to Uddevalla that day.
At the bus I was able to relax for the first time after a lot of cigarettes. I spoke to a 13-years-old girl at the bus who was interested in nothing but animals. Maybe not so interesting but a way to spend the time during the booring bus-trip. I bet that my deer pedophiliac and, in his own special way, animal-loving friend DJ Cat would have loved my situation.
Well, now I was at Kampenhof, the bus-station in Uddevalla. I arrived at 22.45 and I was waiting for my group-mates to pick me up. Time passed. More time passed. 23.30. I was going to give them fifteen more minutes. No more. Exactly after fifteen minutes they arrived at the station. They thought that I was travelling by train and not by bus. That explained the delay.
Well at the party I found a seat besides Fender and I placed my computer next to his. One bad thing with beeing out in the November-coolness is that electric devices don't like low temperatures so much. My TV didn't like it at all. When I turned it on it broke down. Argh! I had to spend the party without a computer. Well, that's the way I use to do it even if my equipment works fully, so what the heck! Many of my friends showed up so I had more than one nice chat during the week-end.
The party was OK. Nice organizing except for that they changed the deadline in the democompetition from Sunday 8.00 to Sunday 2.00. We didn't manage to puzzle our demo together because of that. Well, we wouldn't have made it anyhow :-).
The competitions were allright for such a small party and the prize-money was quite high. Totally about 10000Skr with 130Skr as entrance-fee. 100Skr of the entrance-fee was pure prize-money. The best thing with this party was that I won the music-competition with a tune that absolutely wasn't worth it. The GFX-competition showed us some nice pictures. Too bad that they showed all pictures on a PC. The Amiga LowRes-pictures got really small. The demos were OK for such a small, not to mention Swedish, party. There were not too many serious ones but Craze's and C-Lous' were really worth watching.
Over all this party was a small nice event just as I like it. Many friends and not to serious atmosphere. If you can afford time and money and want to spend them on a small friendship-party; Visit Compusphere VI!
